Some paths are not clear. They emerge only when we step forward—unmarked, unspoken, and deeply our own. In this forest, direction is not given; it is to be discovered.
Title: Road Not Taken No. 3
Subtitle: Journies Begin Where the Path is Unclear
Reference: unmarked forest path black and white, pathless woods fine art, woodland introspection photography, monochrome forest panorama, contemplative landscape
Artist’s Statement:
This is not a trail you follow—it is one you notice, or perhaps one you create. The ground offers no clear line, only suggestion: soft openings between trees, a subtle pull toward light, questions rather than directions. The hillside rises without instruction, layered in ferns and fallen limbs—where the forest has chosen to withhold certainty.
In rendering the scene in black and white, the familiar cues of direction fall away. What remains is a field of possibility—structure without prescription. The trees stand as witnesses, not guides. There is no single way through, no marked passage to guarantee arrival.
And yet, there are ways forward. Not imposed, but felt. The clearing ahead becomes less a destination than a question: where do we step when nothing tells us where to go? In that uncertainty, something essential surfaces. The path is not missing—it is waiting to be claimed.
