A winter river drives forward with a force older than the season that tries to contain it. Ice gathers, forms, and hardens—but beneath it, the water does not yield.

Artist’s Statement:
In the cystaline cold of the north woods, the falls will not be tamed. Ice claims its cast off rime, but water still flows. It presses on with urgent force, slipping through every opening, joing the larger flow.
This is something primal. The river does not question the season—it simply continues—dark, insistent, and certain of its direction. Snow softens the edges of the land, and ice gathers where it can, but the water knows paths far older than the snow that now covers the land.
Beneath frozen surfaces, the current carries on, shaping the world in ways both visible and unseen. This is persistence at its most elemental. The kind that exists without declaration.
