Artist’s Statement:

The season is no longer defined by abundance, but by what remains. Leaves, thinned to lace by time and weather, hold light in unexpected ways—transforming fragility into brilliance. Suspended on slender stems, they appear almost weightless, as though the forest itself is pausing to consider them before letting go.

The interplay between darkness and illumination is central here. The background recedes into a deep, remote green, allowing the remaining leaves to emerge as muted lanterns—brief, glowing, and unapologetically transient. Decay is not treated as loss, but as revelation: structure exposed, color intensified, presence distilled.
