Artist’s Statement:

On a rain-softened forest floor, this leaf arrives without ceremony. Its color remains, but not with the insistence of peak autumn—rather, it lingers, tempered and receding, as if aware of its own brevity. Moisture deepens the surrounding earth, drawing the eye not through contrast, but through a more subdued, intimate conversation.

The image resists spectacle. There is no sweeping gesture, no sense of scale to anchor it beyond this small, contained moment. Instead, it asks for attention in a quieter register—where detail replaces drama, and presence is enough. The leaf does not symbolize; it simply exists in transition.
