Tricolor Thresholds

See full description & specifications

It has been just a little over century since the "troubles" and the factions resolved to come together under a common flag.

The white in the centre signifies a lasting truce between Orange and Green and I trust that beneath its folds the hands of Irish Protestants and Irish Catholics may be clasped in generous and heroic brotherhood".  - Thomas Frances Meagher, 1848

The flag and hope it symbolizes became the flag of the Irish Free State in 1922, and National Flag of Ireland in 1937.

Title: Irish Pride

Subtitle: Three Georgian doorways stand in alignment—green, white, and orange—echoing a nation’s identity

Reference: Dublin Georgian Doors Irish Flag Composition, Tricolor Doorways Photography, Historic Dublin Architecture Fine Art Print

Artist’s Statement:

In Dublin, the door is more than an entrance—it is a signature. Each Georgian doorway carries its own personality, yet together they form a rhythm across the city’s streets. Here, three doors are symbolically gathered in a visual harmony, their colors intentionally mirroring the Irish tricolor: green, white, and orange.

The classical elements—fanlights, columns, brickwork—anchor the composition in 18th-century Georgian design, a period when proportion, balance, and refinement shaped the city’s aesthetic language. Yet it is the color that breathes life into the form. These doors, painted boldly and without apology, transform uniformity into expression.

Ireland’s history is long, proud, and undeniably complex—marked by resilience, struggles, and hard-won understanding. The tricolor itself carries that meaning: green and orange representing traditions once divided, with white standing between them as a symbol of peace and reconciliation. In this alignment of doors, that idea is a declaration and an aspiration.

In a fracteous world, consider how something as simple as a door can become a marker of place, pride, and unity.

A study in symmetry and spirit, where Dublin’s iconic doors become a living echo of Ireland itself—structured, vibrant, and unmistakably proud.
