Ireland reveals itself slowly. Beyond the familiar landscapes are old stones and working harbors, village streets, weather moving across the hills, and traces of lives that have passed through them. After many visits, these are the things that continue to draw me back.
This collection brings together some of my favorite encounters with Ireland, from the familiar to the unexpected. I hope they take you there, and perhaps bring a little of Ireland home.
And if Ireland holds a special place for you, there is a small gift from the gallery waiting at the end of the collection.
Since 1983, I have traveled and photographed Ireland many times. Having family in County Carlow, it feels like a second home. With family, I have been privileged to experience Ireland more deeply, far beyond the tourist highlights. The real Ireland is a modern place that preserves and savors its history. I hope these images bring some of that Ireland home.
As a gift from the gallery, I have prepared a collection of ready-to-frame 8 x 10 inch prints from Doorway to Ireland, available as a complimentary download for easy printing and framing at home.
